Update 31 is here and it’s time to slay all day in ten new outfit variants, two contests, and a new dynamic background theme for your Xbox!
Bringing you the latest in apocalypse fashion are 10 new outfit variants. Five are automatically added to your closet and five to find as you scavenge your way around the map.

Also unlocking today are the heads of horror -- our iconic Halloween masks featuring the jack o’ lantern look for uh, cozy Fall vibes, and the Swine & Bovine mask if Saw is more to your taste. There’s something for everyone!
These automatically unlock when you log into the game between now and November 7.
Halloween Fun
Ah, a crisp Autumn day, a PSL, and a zombie game. What is more seasonal than that? Get into the spirits of things and win swag two ways!
Pumpkin Decorating
Paint or carve your art out! We’re looking for on-brand pumpkins lighting up the neighborhood. Use our stencils to carve a pumpkin and spookify your porch, or create your own decorative gourd with paints, stickers, and anything that makes you go, “Ooo, chilly!”
Then, share a photo of your masterpiece with us on Twitter! Make sure to @ us and use the hashtag #CarveYourArtOut so we don’t miss it. We’ll be picking winners and announcing them on our livestream on October 31st! Prizes are hoodies from our Xbox Gear Store, which you can’t really pass up because it's officially sweata-weatha.

Flash Fiction Contest
If your creative dark arts lean more toward wordsmithing than arts and crafts, this is for you. By popular demand from our Discord community, we’re launching a new Halloween-themed flash fiction contest.
Spin your spookiest Halloween yarn (set in the world of State of Decay) in 200 words or less and submit it on our #Flash-Fiction-Contest channel in our Discord. Emoji vote for your favorite! Winners will be announced on October 31st on our livestream. Prizes are hoodies from the Xbox Gear Shop, perfect for warming your undead heart.

- A Halloween + State of Decay themed short story in 200 words or less
- Post it in the #Flash-Fiction-Contest channel in our Discord
- Your submission MUST include the trigger !FlashFic in order to qualify and for a single emoji to be applied
- Vote on your favorites by NOON PT on October 31st!
